I went to see the Ortodontist today to talk about Braces. He examined my teeth and went through the options.
I can have invisalin if I want to but they do cost alot more. I dont think this is really an option for me because I know I would keep forgetting to put them in and that the treatment time would be about 12 years in the end!
Metal - I dont think so. Catagorically NO!.
Ceramic. Not what I had dreamed of but at least I wouldnt be able to take them out and leave them somewhere. Treatment time with ceramics is estimated at 12 to 18 months. However that wasnt the bombshell, even though it was considerably longer than I was initially told by the dentist. It was the price. If I hadn't already been sat down I would have needed to. £3500! I said that was quite a bit more than what I had in mind. (and far more than I have told my boyfriend they are costing but shhhhhh).
I had already paid £100 for this initial consultation but he could see my uncertainty. I told him that I did want them doing but I didnt want them on before Christmas. I didnt want to go on our XMas do looking like a teenager with a lisp! He was understaning and suggested I make an appointment after the Xmas do to have my impressions taken and Xrays etc. So thats what I did. My apointment is now on the 19th December 2008 to get the ball rolling.
